Uzbekistan launches first-ever national e-commerce platform

On June 30, the launching ceremony of the first national e-commerce platform in Central Asia TradeUZ.com took place at the International Hotel Tashkent in the capital city, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reports.

The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology implemented the TradeUZ.com project.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Bakhtiyor Rakhimov emphasised that the e-commerce platform TradeUZ.com would give a new impetus to the trade potential of Uzbekistan and strengthen its position in international markets.

TradeUZ.com will help small and medium-sized private enterprises of Uzbekistan that produce export products establish business relations with buyers in foreign countries and eventually expand the geography of exports.

Currently, the TradeUZ.com database contains information about nearly 3,000 Uzbek exporters, 10,000 foreign buyers and over 30,000 goods.
