Vladimir Norov receives letters of credence from newly appointed Ambassador of Spain

On June 27, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Uzbekistan Marcos Gomez Martinez, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Congratulating the diplomat on his appointment, Vladimir Norov wished him good luck and every success in his work.

The interlocutors discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in key areas.

Uzbekistan and Spain have a huge potential for building up partnerships in the trade, economic, agricultural, transport, textile, oil and gas, banking, tourism and renewable energy sectors. With the aim to intensify cooperation in these fields, the interlocutors agreed to arrange visits of representatives of Spain’s business circles to Uzbekistan.

The emphasis was placed on the opportunities to foster political dialogue within the international organisations, conduct bilateral meetings at various levels and hold consultations on the Afghan problems.

With the aim to deepen contacts in the education sector, the interlocutors considered opening the branches of Spanish universities in Uzbekistan, inviting Spanish specialists and opening vocational training centres.
