Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda held talks with Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolai Podguzov in Nur-Sultan. The interlocutors discussed further prospects of cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the EDB Council Meeting. Zavkizoda called on Podguzov to increase financing for projects in the Central Asian state. Supporting this initiative, the EBD Chairman said the international financial organisation would increase its investment portfolio in Tajikistan by 5 percent.
Discussing the promising areas of interaction, the interlocutors focused on the social and economic sector. The Minister of Economic Development and Trade emphasised that additional financing would help develop the green economy, industrialize the social sector and increase the exports of Tajik goods.
In Tajikistan, the EDB has invested in 6 projects totally worth $ 51.7 million. About $215 million were provided in 7 grants and concession projects in the country.
