On June 23, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Ji Shumin in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan. They discussed further vectors of cooperation between the executive bodies of Dushanbe and China, the press office of the Mayor’s Office reports.
The interlocutors focused on the prospects of interaction under the construction projects in the capital of Tajikistan, as well as in the economic, trade, humanitarian, medical, educational, cultural, tourism and agricultural sectors.
Rustam Emomali thanked China for supplying coronavirus vaccines to Tajikistan and providing financial assistance in purchasing modern municipal equipment.
On February 5, 2022, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Opening Ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. The main issues under discussion included partnerships in industry. The leaders of the two countries agreed to launch production of electric vehicles and solar panels in the Central Asian state.
