On June 17, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Mary province on a holiday visit. He stopped by the farmer association Türkmenistan in the Vekilbazar district, where he talked to an employee of the Agricultural Research and Production Center of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, as reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
The representative of the institution reported to the president that the country’s scientists have developed new varieties of large-grain wheat that are resistant to diseases and give a high yield. He asked Berdimuhamedov to name them.
The head of the state noted that since the new seeds were developed during the Renaissance of the new era of a powerful state, it would be good to name them «Berkarar» («Power») and «Galkynysh» («Revival»).
The leader of the Central Asian country also drew attention to the fact that the developments of Turkmen scientists must comply with the soil and climatic conditions of the provinces. Attention was also paid to the importance of rational use of land and water resources.
