New consultative and advisory platform set up in Kazakhstan

On June 15, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the document that paved the way for the structuring of the National Kurultai under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and invalidated some decrees of the President of Kazakhstan, the press office of Akorda reported.
The President instructed to consolidate the functional status of the Kurultai and its composition and put the line of the document into use from the date of adoption. In accordance with the Charters, the National Kurultai will perform the functions of a consultative and advisory body under the President of Kazakhstan.
The major routes of activities of the political platform will be the generation and development of ideas and concepts focused on long-standing public unity. The Basic Law, national legislation, presidential decrees and other legal acts will be the guiding beacon for the Kurultai in its activities.
The National Assembly received the right to conduct in-depth dialogue between the public, political parties, non-governmental organisations and state institutions. The Kurultai will convene its meetings as and when required, but at least once a year. The Ministry of Information and Social Development will be in charge of coordinating the National Kurultai.
