Bishkek urges to simplify freight operations and residence regulations for migrant workers in CIS

On June 10, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev participated in the CIS Economic Council Meeting in Nur-Sultan, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Kozhoshev touched upon a wide range of issues of multilateral cooperation, emphasising the need to take prompt measures to ensure an uninterrupted supply of agricultural and food products.

“An enabling environment for freight carriers need to be created through reducing barriers and unjustified checks at the borders to the minimum,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

He paid special attention to undertaking concerted action to regulate labour migration.

In this regard, he proposed to ensure equal rights to migrant workers and citizens of the host country with regard to employment and termination of labour agreements.

The CIS Economic Council will hold its next meeting in Moscow on September 23, 2022.
