The Turkmen delegation took part in the second preparatory meeting of the OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum (EEF), which was held in Poland, on May 23 to 24. A representative of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port gave a speech about the importance of the harbour, as reported by the press office of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
He pointed out that the port is a convenient and important transport hub of the Caspian Sea since the facility is located at the intersection of many trade routes. The emphasis was placed on the fact that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development of green ports, in particular within the cooperation with the OSCE.
The representative of the port also said that the state is doing everything possible to increase its transport potential. To this end, big regional and international projects are implemented, he added.
This year the forum is held under the topic «Promoting security and stability in the OSCE area through sustainable economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic».
