Ministry of Industry of Kazakhstan has cancelled 118 subsoil licenses and terminated 57 contracts

On May 23, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev. The official reported on the work done by the Ministry in 2022, the press office of Akorda reported.

Uskenbaev specified that the agencies had conducted a multi-level audit of currently exploited mineral deposits. The audit findings led to the cancellation of 118 licenses and the termination of 57 contracts. Also, 73 subsoil users received the notifications on immediate correction of violations.

The Minister reported that integrated approaches have been developed in collaboration with the mining and metal industry departments to encourage the creation of manufacturing enterprises with medium and upper production limits.

The Minister reported on the measures taken to restore the facilities which had been damaged in January this year and launch a new state housing support programme for socially vulnerable citizens who currently do not have homes. 2,500 applications under this project have been approved.
