Parliamentarians and citizens of Kazakhstan discuss amendments to Constitution

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a working meeting with Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov. The parliamentarian reported on the measures taken by parliamentarians to conduct a referendum and discuss the proposed amendments to the Constitution, the press office of Akorda reported.

Koshanov reported that parliamentarians hold 250 meetings with local populations every day. Basically, the meetings have taken place at labour collectives, trading platforms and social facilities and in remote settlements. He said the results of these meetings allow stating that in most cases citizens support the initiated reform and are ready to participate in the referendum.

Koshanov noted that the Amanat Party takes an active part in awareness raising activities. The authoritative party members, who are the members of the republican and regional centres, are taking actions. Members of factions in maslikhats of all levels and the youth wing of the Party are involved in these large-scale activities, the visitor of Akorda reported.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis informed that parliamentarians make on-site visits around the country to learn about topical issues and concerns of citizens.
