Tokayev holds government meeting on partnerships with Russian Federation

On May 17, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a government meeting. The meeting agenda focused on the infrastructure of relations between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, the press office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, Head of the President’s Office Murat Nurtleu, members of the government and managers of Samruk-Kazyna JSC took an active part in discussing the agenda.

The participants discussed the issues related to the implementation practice of Kazakhstan-Russia trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as the current state of interaction between the border regions of the two states.

Following the discussions with the government officials, the Kazakh leader gave them specific instructions. In particular, he instructed to review all the unresolved or frozen issues within the geography of bilateral relations with Russia in accordance with national laws of Kazakhstan and with due account to the geo-economic situation.
