Ashgabat hosts first Dialogue of Women of States of Central Asia and Russia

On May 13, Ashgabat hosted a plenary session of the first Dialogue of Women of the States of Central Asia and the Russian Federation. The relevant representatives adopted a declaration, which notes the importance of realizing the creative and peacemaking potential of women, as reported by «Turkmenistan today».

The document states that one of the most important areas of the relevant dialogue is strengthening stability in the world. Attention is paid to the importance of strengthening the role of women in addressing environmental issues and the need to intensify cooperation in overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The declaration emphasizes that the participants of the platform are committed to the SDG agenda until 2030, and also welcome the efforts of the heads of states of Central Asia and the Russian Federation in the framework of supporting women entrepreneurs and encouraging interaction between the fair sex in science, education, healthcare, culture and sport. Emphasis is also placed on the importance of improving the social protection of women.

As part of the meeting, an action plan for the work of the platform for the current year was also signed.

The initiator of holding the Dialogue of women in Ashgabat is the ex-president, chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
