Development strategy of Kazakhstan-Turkey relations outlined

On May 11, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev together with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part in a press briefing during his official visit to Ankara. Addressing the journalists, Tokayev said the talks had resulted in reaching significant interstate agreements, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Kazakh leader stated with confidence that his visit will facilitate cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, military-technical, cultural and humanitarian deltas. In this context, the President of Kazakhstan paid special attention to the large-scale use of the potential of the Trans-Caspian transnational transport corridor.

Underscoring the relevance of these measures, Tokayev emphasised that the chosen strategy is of great importance in modern realities, as the geopolitical situation is becoming more complicated. The President noted the critical importance of the adoption of the Joint Statement on expanded strategic partnerships, designed to fill interstate cooperation with qualitative content.

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the strong foundation of the intergovernmental agreements signed, which will intensify interaction in various fields. Tokayev also specified that the Intergovernmental Economic Commission, as well as the coordinated activities within the Organization of Turkic States would give a powerful impetus to promote relations.
