On May 9, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution under which the fund of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations was renamed. Now it’s called the Fund for International Events. Proposals for the necessary changes in the legislation will be developed within 30 days. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
The Fund of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations was previously created to hold the first Caspian Economic Forum in 2019.
According to the resolution, the employees of the relevant department and representatives of the Ministry of Justice must develop proposals for amendments in the system of legislative acts and additions necessary in the relevant direction within one month. Officials will also have to submit projects to the executive body of the state after the specified period.
Numerous international events, including exhibitions and conferences, are planned to be held in Turkmenistan in 2022.
The first Caspian Economic Forum was held in Turkmenbashi, the west of Turkmenistan. The total cost of the agreements concluded at the event amounted to more than 380 million US dollars.
