Tokayev inspects measures undertaken to eradicate bureaucracy in public administration system

On May 5, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Astana Civil Service Hub Alikhan Baimenov, who reported on the progress of the moral and functional restructuring of the public administration model, the press office of Akorda reported.

The President and the high-ranking official considered the routes for the effective implementation of the President’s decree on debureaucratization of the public administration system. The emphasis was placed on the development of anti-corruption mechanisms to encourage good governance and administration.

The key aspects of this work include continuing professional development and encouragement of professional principles among existing personnel and newly employed public officials. 

The President and the Chairman of the Committee also considered the main stages of international cooperation on civil service matters. A key priority of this work is to create ample opportunities to adopt the best international practices to develop effective tools for public administration.
