Emperor of Japan Naruhito sent a congratulatory letter to the new President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The text says that the head of the Land of the Rising Sun sent the message with great pleasure. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today» on April 7.
Naruhito wished the leader of the Central Asian state happiness and success in his work. The emperor also wished the Turkmen people well-being and prosperous life.
The president of Turkmenistan has already met with the head of Japan. It happened when Serdar Berdimuhamedov was Deputy Prime Minister and was on a working visit to Tokyo as part of the 32nd Summer Olympic Games on July 23, 2021.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the importance of developing Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov (former candidate from the Democratic Party) won the presidential election in Turkmenistan. He received 72,97% of the votes.
