On March 30, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting on urgent issues of the financial and economic sector related to geopolitical factors and their destructive pressure on the national economy, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
Noting that the situation was changing rapidly, the President resolutely recommended that the government agencies calibrate their approaches and promptly identify all risks and opportunities. In these realities, all actions must be correct and taken without any bureaucratic sagging, Tokayev said.
The reports on the current status of the monetary policy, the updated parameters of the republican budget and the expectations for economic growth were presented during the meeting. The issues related to the budget expenditures optimisation, spring sowing campaign, export destinations, investment attraction, logistics and implementation of the Population Income Generation Concept were discussed.
Commenting on the reports, the President set the socio-economic tasks for the Cabinet of Ministers and the President’s Office. It should be noted that before the meeting, Tokayev kept his finger on the pulse and monitored the changes in the financial and economic sector during his meetings with the Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the National Bank.
