Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov met with Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev during his visit to Almaty to participate in the solemn meeting of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. The Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh noted the high level of cooperation between the two fraternal nations in all areas, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The interlocutors noted that this year’s important joint events include the visit of President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan in May. They expressed belief that this visit would give further impetus to bilateral cooperation.
The Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh called on the Kazakh side to consider opening land borders for citizens and light vehicles from Kyrgyzstan, given that Kyrgyzstan opened its land border for citizens of Kazakhstan in May 2020.
Mamytov invited his counterpart from Kazakhstan to pay an official visit to Bishkek. Ashimbaev accepted the invitation with pleasure and expressed support for all the proposals of the Kyrgyz side.
