On March 25, at a cabinet meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, former president and head of the Halk Maslakhaty (one of the chambers of parliament) of Turkmenistan, asked the leader of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov to let him go on vacation on April 1. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that he has been holding leadership positions for 40 years and devoted 25 years of his life to politics. According to him, such a big work was quite intense, and he couldn’t rest fully.
The ex-president stressed that during the vacation he wants to finish several new books, as well as to get ready for the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian States and Russia, and the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian States and Russia, which are scheduled for this year.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that he will approve the request of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty. The duties of the head of the chamber of parliament will be temporarily performed by the deputy Kasymguly Babayev.
