Leader of Uzbekistan receives UAE and Saudi Arabia delegations

On March 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with the delegations from the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who arrived in the capital of Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The UAE delegation was led by Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei. The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral partnerships in the trade, economic, transport, logistics, investment and agriculture sectors, as well as the green energy industry (as is known, Masdar from Abu Dhabi is implementing a number of solar and wind power projects in Uzbekistan).

The Uzbek leader also met with Minister of Investments of Saudi Arabia Khalid al-Falih.

Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia have been cooperating fruitfully in the energy sector. The interlocutors noted the contribution made by ACWA Power to modernise power infrastructure and promote green energy in Uzbekistan. This corporation is participating in the projects worth US$2.7 billion.

They also noted the participation of the Saudi Fund for Development in the implementation of major social projects in Uzbekistan.

The talks focused on the prospects for implementing joint projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, agricultural, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
