On March 24, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantirov, who reported on the ongoing tasks and future plans of the economic sector, the press office of Akorda reported.
Kuantyrov informed about the restructuring of key bases towards the post-COVID economic recovery strategy and the formation of its variability to appropriately respond to external risks. The Minister reported that the programme aimed at raising the income of the population, as well as a set of measures to monitor and curb inflation have been launched.
The Minister said a working group was set up and tools for creating new regional divisions were developed to fulfil the tasks set by the President in his recent Address to the people of Kazakhstan on optimizing the administrative-territorial geography of the country.
In conclusion, the President gave the Minister specific instructions for maintaining macroeconomic stability, diversifying the national economy and creating new jobs. Tokayev instructed to simplify the share of the state in economic entities and support citizens and businesses.
