On March 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the current state of the economy of Uzbekistan and further measures to strengthen it, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The leader of Uzbekistan noted that the global situation is forcing to take measures to prevent the political situation from having a negative impact on the national economy. This is especially true for supporting entrepreneurs and providing food for citizens.
President Mirziyoyev instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade to maintain a continuous dialogue with businesses to give them timely assistance to implement their projects and export-import operations.
The situation in the regions needs to be monitored on a regular basis.
With the view to mitigating the impacts of pressure on food supplies, the President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to control food prices in the domestic market and assist entrepreneurs who import wheat, vegetable oil, sugar and other essential products.
With the view to preventing any speculation on exchange rate volatility, the situation in the foreign exchange market should be taken under control.
