The new leader of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to President of Cuba Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic cooperation. He expressed hope for further strengthening of interstate relations. It was reported by «Turkmenistan today» on March 23.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov described the foundation of the partnership between the countries. According to him, it is based on mutual respect, equality and trust. He underlined that Ashgabat wants to expand cooperation with Havana. At the same time, the president noted that this cooperation should develop for the good of the citizens of Turkmenistan and Cuba.
The head of the Central Asian state also wished his colleague good health and happiness. He wished the people of Cuba a prosperous and progressive life.
In November 2019, the Ambassador of Cuba Alfredo Nieves Portuondo met with the members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The participants of the negotiations commended the relations of the countries in the political, diplomatic, economic and humanitarian fields.
