On March 18, the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States held its 93rd meeting in Moscow. Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda attended the event. He spoke about the role of President Emomali Rahmon in expanding ties within the CIS, the press office of the Ministry reports.
The Minister emphasised that thanks to the wisdom and prudence of the leader of the Republic, Dushanbe was able to expand relations with all members of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Noting that trade with the CIS Members constitutes more than 50 percent of Tajikistan’s foreign trade, the Minister said Tajikistan was ready to support the draft CIS agreement on free trade in services.
Ambassador of Tajikistan to Moscow Gulmahmadzoda Davlatshokh and Head of the CIS Department of the President’s Executive Office Sharifi Abdulaziz attended the meeting.
The participants agreed to use national currencies for trade settlements. The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council will take place on May 20 this year.
