On March 10, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a joint meeting of the government and the State Security Council. As part of the meeting, he heard reports on preparations for the election of the head of the state. Particular attention was paid to hospitality towards observers. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov noted that it is necessary to organize mobile points at polling stations during the election on March 12. This should be done so that foreign guests can try various dishes, local products, including Turkmen soda and fruit juices, he said.
The leader of the country also ordered the officials to organize trade of local products. According to the president, it should be done in order to demonstrate the food abundance in Turkmenistan to international observers, as well as to show hospitality to foreign representatives.
The presidential election will be held tomorrow, March 12. After visiting the polling stations, the mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States noted that everything was organized at a very high level. The average voter can feel quite comfortable, they added.
