Tajikistan lifts some COVID restrictions

The Republican Task Force to Combat COVID-19 of the Republic of Tajikistan decided to lift some coronavirus pandemic restrictions. Restrictions on the operations of border checkpoints, wearing a face mask and large gatherings will be lifted, the Khovar News Agency reported on March 7.

The checkpoints on the state border between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will resume normal operations from March 15. Travellers entering Tajikistan will be required to provide a vaccination certificate. They will not be required to undergo additional tests.

The Republic will recognise vaccination certificates of citizens of the CIS Member States. Travellers from other countries are required to provide a certificate of absence of coronavirus valid for 3 days.

Wearing a face mask is are no longer mandatory in Tajikistan. Restrictions on the number of people who can attend a wedding will also be lifted. This applies to all large gatherings and rituals.

No COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the country since mid-February.
