On March 29-30, Ashgabat will hold the International Investment Forum «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan» (OGT-2022). The main goal of the event is to attract foreign capital to the energy sector of the corresponding country. It was reported by the correspondent of the online media CentralAsia.news.
Such projects as the development of the «Galkynysh» and «Dostluk» fields, the construction of line D of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, and the utilization of chemical gasses will be presented at the forum.
On March 29, at the plenary session, the topic «The Future of the Global Energy System» will be discussed. Batyr Amanov, the head of the state company «Turkmengaz», will be the main speaker, and Chang Ching Yu, the director of the permanent representative office of the Asian Development Bank in Turkmenistan, will be the moderator.
A teleconference with Dubai Expo 2020 will be held as well. Participants of the live broadcast will discuss the topic «The role of Turkmenistan in ensuring regional energy security». Serdarmammet Garajayev, the ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates, will be the main speaker, and Muhammetmyrat Amanov, the Executive Director of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, will be the moderator.
The next day, March 30, there will be a panel discussion. It will be dedicated to the topic «Opportunities for investment projects in the era of new energy». During the third session of the forum, its participants will discuss the role of financial institutions in supporting sustainable energy. Muhammetgeldi Serdarov, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, will be the main speaker.
The forum will also be dedicated to the innovative technologies and know-how for the production of hydrocarbons and reducing associated gas emissions, international cooperation in the field of refining and transportation of hydrocarbons. The participants will share experience in the relevant area.
The forum is organized by the state companies «Turkmennebit», «Turkmengaz», «Turkmenhimiya», the state corporation «Turkmengeologiya», the leading international organizing company in the energy sector «Turkmen Forum» and the British consulting oil company «GaffneyCline».
The event will be attended by the top management of the International Energy Agency, the International Gas Union, Gas Exporting Countries Forum, OPEC, CNPC, «Lukoil», «Socar», «Dragon Oil», «Petronas», and experts in the oil and gas industry.
The forum will be partly held online. The virtual part will be organized via «Zoom», a video teleconferencing software program.
