Samruk-Kazyna JSC embeds transparency into its procurement process

On March 3, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev chaired a meeting of the Supreme Council for Reforms. Chairman of the Management Board of the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC Almasadam Satkaliyev reported on the progress of reforms of the national investment holding, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.

The priority reforms of the national investment strategy focus on embedding transparency into procurement processes and breaking barriers for market players and participants in gas, oil, coal and electricity processing and sales. Satkaliyev noted that the pragmatic personnel restructuring is underway, which will result in optimising the management personnel.

The Chairman of the Management Board informed that the performance improvement plan provides for attracting high-quality investments totalling US$ 8 billion, putting into operation 24 production facilities and creating about 5,000 new jobs.

He also emphasised that anti-corruption activities will be conducted at all core companies. The proposals for optimization will be developed for each of these companies. For example, it is planned to terminate the agreements with 44 intermediaries involved in electricity delivery to the entities of the National Welfare Fund.
