The United Nations Population Fund has invited the men and boys from Turkmenistan to use new platform «MenEngage» that is aimed at promoting gender equality at home, in the workplace and in society. It was reported by the UNFPA press office on March 3.

The fund has created a Turkmen-language web page «ErkeklerHem» which is the part of the regional platform «MenEngage» for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The site has news, research, videos and interviews related to reproductive health, maternal and child health, parenthood and caregiving, positive gender practices at work and in a society.

The platform also contains a set of resources and instruments to support men and boys in championing gender equality. Within the program particular attention is paid to the importance of preventing gender-based violence, family planning, and supporting family-oriented policies.

In Turkmenistan, the involvement of men is one of the main directions of the second National Action Plan on Gender Equality.
