Nur-Sultan and Tashkent continue building up strategic partnerships

On March 3, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation with his counterpart, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The interlocutors specified the approaches to promoting bilateral relations in the new geopolitical realities, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The leaders of the two states exchanged views on the current state of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan trade and economic tandem. They highlighted the importance of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the leader of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed their readiness to instruct their governments to further interact closely to diversify economic cooperation, including in addressing modern challenges.

As was reported, the Uzbek leader and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov noted that the two countries were ready to intensify partnerships in the machine building, light and other key processing industries during the telephone conversation last month. Today, the two countries are jointly implementing a number of major investment projects.
