On March 2, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan during his official visit to Abu Dhabi. The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations in various areas of mutual interest, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Noting the adverse impact of the pandemic on the global economy and commodity turnover between the two countries, the officials emphasised the need and common intention to take joint actions to increase bilateral trade.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan suggested that the authorities of the UAE consider the possibility of introducing the visa-free regime for Kyrgyz citizens, given their significant number in the UAE labour market.
Also, the Kyrgyz side requested that the authorities of the UAE create more favourable conditions for workers from Kyrgyzstan.
Noting the high level of Kyrgyzstan-UAE relations and cultural affinities between the two peoples, Kazakbaev called on the partners to consider the possibility of opening Arab culture centres and joint universities in Kyrgyzstan.
