The famous French pianist Francois Chaplin, who is one of the top ten pianists in the world, arrived in Dushanbe. He will perform on the stage of Sadriddin Aini Tajik State Opera and Ballet Theatre on March 4, the press office of the Theatre reported.
The pianist will also give a series of master classes at Talabkhuj Sattorov National Conservatoire. This music tour was organised by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France together with the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Tajikistan.
The gala concert will take place on March 4 at 7 o’clock in the evening. The ticket costs 100 somoni (about $8.86). It can be bought online.
Chaplin plays Debussy, Chopin, Brahms, Schumann and Scriabin. A columnist for French Le Monde called him the inimitable musical impressionist for his love of mixing musical tones like an artist.
The musician trained at the Paris Conservatoire with the Bulgarian pianist Ventsislav Yankoff and with the French pianist Jacqueline Robin.
