On March 1, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with members of both houses of parliament — the Halk Maslakhaty and the Mejlis. As part of his speech, the leader of the country revealed new details about the work of the Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need of Guardianship, as reported by «Turkmenistan today».
The head of the state stressed that now the Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center will operate under the patronage of the foundation. Construction of the facility hasn’t been completed yet. It is located on the territory of the new administrative center of Ahal province. The center will include a 150-bed kindergarten, a 120-bed hospital and a health center.
The President underlined that the organization has a Council of Elders. Its main purpose is solving issues related to adoption, giving names and surnames to orphans.
Berdimuhamedov said that the fund’s money goes to treatment of children in the country and abroad. He recalled that the foundation had already paid for several complex surgeries. According to him, the organization will expand its work.
