Law students learn about activities of Senate

Students at the Tashkent State Law University met with Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption Narimon Umarov, the press office of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan reported.

The aim of the students’ visit was to promote cooperation between the university and the Senate in training professional lawyers, as well as to provide students with practical knowledge about the activities of the national Parliament.

The students learned about the rights and duties of senators, the powers of the upper house, the exercise of parliamentary control and the activities of the committees and the office of the Senate.

Addressing the students, Narimon Umarov stressed that the Senate focused its activities on ensuring the implementation of laws and state programmes adopted by the Parliament, as well as monitoring the activities of executive bodies and government officials.

The students also talked to parliamentarians on specific issues of parliamentary activities in various areas.
