Low-income families in Batken Region receive money from Government

On February 21, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov took part in the ceremony of awarding the grants of 100,000 soms to 50 low-income families in Kadamzhay district during his working visit to Batken Region, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

As reported, the Ministry of Labour jointly with the UN has launched a new project on social contract in two regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the Ministry, an innovative pilot project will start in Kadamdzhai and Jumgal districts and help 100 families get out of poverty.

A one-time cash grant of 100,000 soms will be provided under the pilot project on social assistance to low-income families on the basis of a social contract.

“Our goal is to help low-income families go through a difficult situation in their life. We believe that such projects will have a positive impact on small businesses in the regions, create new jobs and also contribute to reducing poverty,” the Prime Minister said.

Akylbek Japarov noted that social welfare payments were increased by 200% in accordance with the instructions of President Sadyr Japarov.
