On February 18, the leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a working trip to one of the districts of Tashkent – Yangikhayot to inspect the progress of construction of a number of important social and economic facilities, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The President visited the construction site of the Tashkent INDEX trade and production complex, which comprises trade and logistics centres, an exhibition centre, a hotel, cafes and restaurants. The complex will create almost 13,000 new jobs.
There, President Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the social and economic development of Yangikhayot and Sergeli districts.
In 2022, 5 million square metres of housing will be built in Yaangikhayot district, 3 new kindergartens will open and the existing schools will be expanded through construction of new buildings.
Construction work is underway on 2 schools, 2 kindergartens and a clinic in Sergeli district. The plant that will produce aluminium profiles and spare parts for electric vehicles will create more than 30,000 new jobs.
During his visit to the Yangikhayot district, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of the new Yangikhayot industrial technology park, talked to the residents of Dustlik mahalla and visited the confectionery company Almerro Group LLC.
