Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan decide to increase commodity turnover

The Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan working group on trade and economic cooperation held its first meeting in Almaty. It adopted a number of decisions that would contribute to increasing bilateral trade. Following the meeting, the parties signed the final protocol, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported on February 16.

The parties discussed the construction projects of an industrial trade and logistics complex in the territory of the Ak-Tilek and Karasu checkpoints and wholesale centres in Kyrgyzstan. They agreed that the State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic would be provided with electronic invoices for goods exported to the EAEU member states or imported from Kazakhstan.

The Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan will open its representative office in Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan will resume passenger train services through Kazakhstan to Russia on February 21.

The participants in the meeting signed the final protocol on the suppression of the issuance and distribution of conformity assessment documents issued illegally. Discussing the venue for the next meetings, the participants decided that they should take place in the border areas.
