On February 1, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the further development of the fuel and energy complex. He instructed officials to focus on finding new opportunities to expand export of Turkmen gas. It was reported by «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov directed to take all the necessary steps to increase the volume of gas exported to other countries. He stressed that the strengthening constructive ties with states that transit the Turkmen gas and the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project should be the primary tasks in the relevant direction.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported that all necessary measures to increase the volume of supplies of energy resources to foreign countries would be taken.
The President noted that Turkmenistan is gradually strengthening the status of the energy Power of the planet.
In January, an agreement on swap supplies of Turkmen gas from Iran to Azerbaijan came into force. Thus, from 1.5 to 2 billion cubic meters of gas will be sent from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan annually.
