EEC Council headed by Kyrgyzstan considers 30 important issues

First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev chaired the first EEC Council meeting in 2022, during which 30 issues aimed at increasing transit attractiveness of the EAEU were considered, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The Council decided to submit the issue of using navigation seals to track transit movements of goods in the EAEU for consideration to the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The meeting participants noted that navigation seals would mitigate border controls in the EAEU and increase transport attractiveness of the EAEU member states.

The participants approved the roadmap for the integration of the national permit systems in the EAEU through using the EAEU’s database.

A pilot project aimed at tracking transit movements of goods imported into the territory of the EAEU will be launched in the near future. The Council modified the unified phytosanitary quarantine requirements for goods imported to the EAEU and the procedure for unified veterinary control.

The EEC Council will hold its next meeting on February 18 via videoconference.
