On January 20, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The interlocutors discussed further steps to expand mutually beneficial partnerships and focused with great satisfaction on the successful implementation of cooperation projects and the positive dynamics of bilateral relations, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.
They noted that bilateral interactions contribute to boosting bilateral trade and expanding practical cooperation in such promising areas as industry, energy, agroindustry, water management and transport. The interlocutors highlighted the intensification of regional exchanges, as well as the implementation of bilateral major humanitarian programmes.
The leaders of the two states discussed key aspects of bilateral relations based on age-old good neighbourliness, friendship and mutual respect. An exchange of views on regional and international issues and vectors of cooperation within the multilateral organisations took place. The interlocutors discussed the schedule of planned meetings and events.
