Uzbekistan intensifies cooperation with World Bank

Entrepreneurs, social workers and members of the public of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Bukhara Regions took part in an online meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Resident Representative Marco Mantovanelli, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan reported.

The Uzbekistan delegation also included Head of the department of international cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Shukhrat Matkarimov and Head of the department for cooperation with the World Bank Group Begzod Khamroev.

The online talks focused on intensifying cooperation between Uzbekistan and the World Bank Group. The participants reviewed the outcomes of partnership in 2016-2021, as well as the progress in the implementation of joint programmes as of January 2022. Representatives of the regions presented their projects aimed to promote partnerships with the World Bank.

They also discussed the aspects of the World Bank’s Country Partnership Framework for 2022-2026.

The World Bank delegation is planning to meet with the delegations from Jizzakh, Samarkand and Syrdarya Regions in the near future.
