Japarov puts forward proposals within EAEU Presidency

On January 11, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov delivered a speech marking the start of Kyrgyzstan’s Presidency of the EAEU in 2022. The President proposed to give additional powers to the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission and grant the special status to the judicial branch of the EAEU, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Japarov put forward the initiative to create and hold an annual youth forum of the participating countries.

The leader of Kyrgyzstan noted that despite a number of negative regional and global circumstances, the Eurasian Economic Union had proved its viability and self-consistency over the past 7 years.

Japarov emphasised that unprecedented global transformations, which had inflicted substantial damage on all countries of the world and had the tremendous socio-economic impacts on each country, took place over the past few years.

He mentioned the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and anthropogenic impact on the environment among them.
