On January 4, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid a visit to the Lebap province. There he visited the Malaý gas field and talked to a local shepherd. As part of the trip, the leader of the nation held a meeting with the heads of state companies Türkmengeologiýa and Türkmengaz. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan Today».
Berdimuhamedov heard reports from officials on the implementation of the oil and gas industry development program until 2030. The head of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the Türkmengaz Company reported on the work aimed at expanding the productivity of gas fields. According to him, the gas produced in the Lebap province is considered the most environmentally friendly.
The President stressed that the volume of gas resources of Turkmenistan is increasing by 126 billion cubic meters. Polyethylene and polypropylene which are made of gas are used in the manufacture of carpets, obtaining fertilizers, and the production of automobile fuel.
The head of the state outlined three main tasks of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan today. These are the industrialization of the oil and gas sector, the full provision of the domestic market with gas and the increase in exports.
After the meeting, the Turkmen leader visited the Karakum desert by an off-road vehicle. There he met with the shepherd Aymyrat Pashshykov, who was herding camels. The man is a representative of the Ýeňiş farmer association.
The shepherd told the head of the state that he works within leasing, and the business is very profitable for him. The man noted that the state creates great conditions for workers in the agricultural sector, and his family lives in prosperity.
Berdimuhamedov, in turn, noted that scientists had proven the healing properties of camel hair and milk for human health. The president also gave the shepherd a present.
