The authorities of Tajikistan and the United States of America have launched a series of celebrations of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The programme of anniversary celebrations includes concerts and film festival that will take place from January through May next year, the press office of the US Embassy reported on December 23.
The countries established diplomatic relations on February 14, 1992. In December 1991, Washington recognized the independence of Tajikistan. Over the past 30 years, the United States has sent about US$ 1.8 billion in aid to Dushanbe.
On December 24, a photo exhibition was arranged in Tajikistan to mark the anniversary of diplomatic relations. In mid-January, it is planned to hold a press conference and a Tajikistan-US song contest, publish a book on the history of bilateral cooperation and present a film documentary premiere about interstate relations.
The Fremonts from Colorado will tour Tajikistan in the second half of January. A film festival will take place in mid-February. Over the next months until early June, the Innovation Day within the Go Viral project and Tajikistan-US concerts and tours will be held, and 1000 comics dedicated to US-Tajikistan friendship will be published. The regional Go Viral Festival in Dushanbe will be the closing event.
