On November 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Chung Eui-yong arrived in Dushanbe for an official visit. He met with President Emomali Rahmon and his counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin. The parties discussed the prospects for expanding trade and investment cooperation, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of building up interstate relations in the banking, hydropower, mining, agricultural, transport, engineering and IT sectors.
The emphasis was placed on the importance of increasing bilateral trade. Chung Eui-yong and Muhriddin signed the protocol of amendment to the convention for the avoidance of double taxation between the two countries. The parties also agreed to hold joint events in 2022.
The science conference “Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea: state and development prospects” took place on the same day.
