Lavrov and Mukhriddin discuss incident, involving death of Tajik citizens

On November 25, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojidin Mukhriddin had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart. The interlocutors discussed the incident, involving the death of Tajik citizens that occurred in Zalari village of Zalarinsky district of Irkutsk Region on November 12, 2021, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.

Talking to Lavrov, Mukhriddin highlighted the need to investigate thoroughly the incident and punish the perpetrators of the crime.

The parties agreed to take the incident under special control of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Russia.

The foreign ministers also discussed the current state and prospects of Tajikistan-Russia interaction in a bilateral format and within the CSTO.

As was reported, two citizens of Tajikistan were killed in a fire in a shed in Zalari village on November 12, and five citizens of Tajikistan with burns and injuries were taken to the hospital. A fight between local residents and the citizens of Tajikistan, who worked at one of the construction sites in the village, preceded the fire. Both sides beat each other. After that, the trailer, in which the migrants lived, was set on fire.
