Kazakhstan to produce 200 tonnes of uranium fuel annually

On November 25, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with East Kazakhstan Region Akim Danial Akhmetov, who reported on the social, economic and industrial development of the region, as well as the activities of the plant that produces the ultra-efficient fuel, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

The East Kazakhstan Region Akim reported that 140 workers would work at the recently opened enterprise Ulba-TVS. The production facility specialises in manufacturing equipment for the energy industry. In addition, the plant has the uranium enrichment technologies in its production arsenal; it will produce 200 tonnes of uranium fuel annually.

Akhmetov reported on the progress of the vaccination campaign. According to his information, 100% first dose coverage has been achieved, and the second dose vaccination is expected to be completed by December 7. Reporting on the development of the agro-industrial sector, the Akim said commodity exports were to increase fourfold next year.

The President set a number of tasks for the official related to the heating season, coal supply and export enhancement.
