Kyrgyzstan invites EU to open European University in Central Asia

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilainen during his visit to Dushanbe. The parties focused on promoting bilateral contacts, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The parties discussed the plans for the near future. In particular, they discussed the visit of President Sadyr Japarov to the EU headquarters in Brussels and the signing of an expanded partnership and cooperation agreement.

Josep Borrell congratulated the Kyrgyz side on the success of the First EU-CA Economic Forum, which took place on November 5, 2021.

He also said European investors were interested in investing in renewable energy and sustainable development projects.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan focused on boosting cooperation in the education sector through the opening of the European University in Central Asia and a Kyrgyz-EU primary school in Bishkek.
