Uzbekistan and Russia sign 18 bilateral documents

On November 19, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Russia where he met with RF President Vladimir Putin. The volume of Russia’s investments in Uzbek economy exceeds US$ 20 billion and continues to grow, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

Today, Russia accounts for 18% of Uzbekistan’s exchange of goods. Trade turnover is increasing: despite the pandemic, it increased by more than 15% in 2020. The projects worth US$ 14 billion are under development.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral relations based on strategic cooperation and alliance.

Last year, mutual trade amounted to more than US$ 5.6 billion; it reached US$ 6 billion in the first 9 months of the year, and it will come close to US$ 7 billion by the end of the year.

An exchange of views on regional security and the situation in Afghanistan took place.

The leaders of the two states signed 18 bilateral documents during the talks. The representatives of the two countries discussed cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, healthcare and investment sectors.
