On November 17, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The interlocutors focused on strengthening bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between in all economic sectors, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The leaders of the two states agreed to arrange an official visit of the Uzbek leader to Astana by the end of the year, which would give a practical impetus to multifaceted relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In this context, the government agencies of the two states were instructed to prepare for the upcoming high-level talks.
The interlocutors focused on expanding trade and economic interaction and investment partnership, as well as implementing joint projects in such areas as industry, mechanical engineering, transport and logistics, healthcare and agriculture, among others.
